Pimp My Frog
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007It's official - Gimpy The Three Legged Frog is now a house pet. With summer changing to fall, temperatures dropping, and winter not far in the future, he could no longer be left in his stylin' outdoor crib. My Lady Friend was steadfast in refusing my suggestion that he be returned to the wild, insisting that "he only has three legs" and "he'd get owned".
So the other night she calls me at work to inform me that she just dropped $78 on gravel, driftwood, fake plants, rocks, a filter, and some chemicals to turn his aquarium into a swingin' frog bachelor pad. She had spoken with the fine folks at Hoffer's Tropic Life Pets, who are far nicer and less r-tarded in person than they are were on their website.
They informed her that Gimpy was, in all likelihood, a Green Frog and preferred to live in a swampy, mostly water environment rather than the couple pounds of dirt and plastic dish of water we had previously provided him. Thus, the investment in aquarium bling.
Further examination of Gimpy leads us to believe that he may actually be a Bullfrog, which means I can look forward to being serenaded every night for an obscenely long time. If that's the case, either I'm moving out or Gimpy is going to have an unfortunate accident involving his swamp-aquarium and a small electrical appliance.
